The Directors

The Directors

The Directors’ at Crowthers are pleased to report on our accounts to 31 March 2013 which has seen a major step forward in our business.

Overall we have achieved a 12% turnover growth which has mainly come from new client work. Business tax planning assignments have also increased and we are delighted with the continued development of the specialist agricultural team.

The growth in turnover is especially pleasing as we have not increased our charge out rates. We believe we are now offering even better value for money borne out by increasing referrals of new work from our existing clients.

A big thank you to all our team members and clients for your support over the last year.

Crowthers have no merger plans!

Posted in Our Team News on March 26th, 2013 by Jonathan Crowther

There has been some confusion amongst our professional contacts following the merger announced on 1 March 2013 between the firm called Crowther Beard in Worcester with Nicklin.  We understand that the new firm will be called Nicklin.

All of our contacts and clients can be assured that we have no connection with either of these firms and Crowthers Chartered Accountants will continue to operate from our Pershore and Ledbury offices.

We have no plans to merge with any other firm or change our name!

The Tale of Two Adams!

Posted in Farming News on January 30th, 2013 by Sophie Howard

More than 150 people packed a conference to hear NFU Vice President Adam Quinney and BBC Countryfile presenter Adam Henson talk about industry issues.

The Pershore conference, dubbed The Tale of Two Adams, was held last Thursday (24 January) and saw both men address delegates before taking questions from the floor.

Crowthers co-sponsored the event with Carver Knowles as usual, but were joined this year by Shakespeares Solicitors.

Adam Henson, who farms near Stow-on-the-Wold, spoke about his background, the influence of his father, Joe Henson MBE, the work at Cotswold Farm Park and his life as a farmer and TV presenter.

Adam, who also presents Lambing Live with Kate Humble, also talked about an American mega dairy he had visited which housed 32,000 cows, bovine tuberculosis and other pressing industry issues.

Adam Quinney, echoed some of Mr Henson’s comments and urged farmers to tell people about their work because the industry could deliver solutions in terms of food, to the environment, cleaner energy, careers, to the economy and much more.

He said “I think it is really important to show that farming can deliver and to talk to them about all of the issues we deal with in the countryside”.
