We’d like to take a moment to celebrate the success of one of our Clients, Drew Benvie, Founder and CEO of Battenhall, a multi award winning communications agency. Drew has recently presented his ideas on improving Social Media at a TEDx Talks Convention which is available to watch in full by following this link: https://youtu.be/c6fU6zCMqNc

Social media is one of the most dominant influences on modern society, and it has come out of nowhere. One million harmful accounts are deleted from social media every hour of every day, and this tidal wave of online harm is only just beginning.

From being blamed for causing depression, spreading disinformation, for cyber-attacks or celebrity hacks, it’s getting a bad reputation and often seems out of control. But where is it all coming from? How is social media really influencing us? And what can we do to stay safe? Can anything really save social media?

Drew believes we can, and the answers are at our fingertips. His TEDx talk explores both the more troubling elements of life in cyberspace as well as the practical things that we can all do to take back control of our social feeds, protect ourselves from harm, and enjoy a much more enriching and positive time online.

Regarded as one of the UK’s most well-respected social media practitioners, Drew has shaped how we use social media since the very beginning when he wrote the first page about social media on Wikipedia in 2006. He now works with global organisations, charities and celebrities, and he has been named the most respected social media practitioner in the UK.

Thank you for sharing this with us Drew – we hope to watch more in the future!
